EURO - MODULE BANKING

The attached programme

EURO - MODULE

EN BANKING

is the result of a co-operative development work of different transnational partner organisations undertaken within the framework of the PETRA Programme of the European Union. Since 1995 the PETRA Programme continues under the name LEONARDO DA VINCI. The present EURO-MODULE was designed with the intention to serve young people as well as their receiving companies as a guideline for the realisation of practical training measures in different European Member States.

The MODULE comprises two sections:

SKILLS and SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE, both with THREE COLUMNS.

SKILLS

Participants in the PETRA Scheme abroad are expected to be engaged in activities with which they have already become familiar in their home countries. Their previously acquired skills are intended to be applied and extended under unfamiliar working conditions.

This can only be achieved to an optimum extent if the following three factors concur:

  1. necessary specialised skills (specialist competence)
  2. adequate command of foreign languages
  3. opportunities within the companies to actually apply the skills.

A mutual interest in providing and receiving instruction will at any rate be assumed.

COLUMN 1 (completely achieved) should be marked xxxx if factors 1, 2 and 3 applied.

COLUMN 2 (partially achieved) should be marked xxxx if factors 1 and 2 only partly applied or the situation in the companies failed to permit thorough application.

COLUMN 3 (not possible) should be marked xxxx if a skill could not be applied either because it was lacking (Factor 1) or because language skills were inadequate (Factor 2) or because the activity could not be performed in the particular company (Factor 3)

If need be, reasons for marking Column 3 may be given in the section General Comments on the last page of the MODULE.

A DASH should be used to delete ALL UNUSED SECTIONS of the columns.

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE

The specialised knowledge listed in the EURO MODULE may be, but need not be, imparted in the company involved in the practical training period. The assigned agency will establish in discussions appropriate to the specific case whether specialised knowledge of a more general nature may be imparted in the chosen company or whether some form of additional programme may have to be organized.

Under the heading GENERAL COMMENTS the names of those who imparted general specialised knowledge thoroughly or in part may be noted.

All participants in the PETRA Scheme will be obliged to submit a report on their practical training periods abroad stating which skills they were able to apply or improve and which additional specialised knowledge they gained. The attached EURO MODULE may serve as a guideline while writing these reports.
